#6 German Shepard

The black and tan bad rep breed. I give you the handsome German Shepard with the looks to charm especially when puppies.

This dog well known to, catch criminals and fights crime along the police forces in England and the US,yet one of the most loyal breeds that would take a bullet for their owner and high up on the cleverness rating also high on the shedding scale.

This breeds top facts to know are:

Life span is 9-13 years.Height: 60-65 cm for Males and Females 55 - 60 cm.Do not really like being left alone.Known as "German Shedders".Can be suspicious of strangers.

This breeds temperament is sometimes misunderstood, as when you ask someone what are German Shepard sometimes the first words are strong, vicious, snappy, unpredictable.
Yes an untrained Shepard can be all those things as any other dog can be but really paired with the right owner who has done research on the breed, they can be one of the most loyal pets as seen in police forces they would take a bullet for their pack and owner, yes they are sometimes weary of strangers and can be aloof but if socialized well and everyday with many people that trait is very likely to calm down and their trust of strangers will rise.

Extremely intelligent and athletic and this fabulous duo of characteristics make for a great service, guide, therapy or just overall working dog and pick up trick very easily.

Also very energetic this breed is a must and needs to be walked and physically challenged everyday, with this comes responsibility as if left alone when not exercised they can lead to bark, dig, chew from pure boredom (but barking can be taught to stop by teaching the quiet trick which should be in German Shepard owner to do list.)

As with every hard exterior this breed is a softy at heart and love to play and cuddle with their nearest family members and known to lay at the feet of owners at bedtime as they love to always know that their family or owner/'s are safe. Also fairly Velcro like dogs as puppies they very much follow you around.

As puppies this breed are smart usually are fairly easy to toilet train and crate train but like many other breeds they dont like the crate unless they are trained to connect the crate with positive things and as they are so connected to their pack they are a breed that can get separation anxiety is not taught or crate trained properly.

This breeds healthy for the most part except for possible hip and elbow dysplasia as see in other large breeds like labs.

Lastly if brought up with kids from young this breed can be a excellent protector and also can grow up with other animal only if raised with from a puppy. This breed like many others however should not be left alone with young children.

Always remember "no dog breed is born "dangerous" its just bad and un informed owners who MAKE or train the dogs to be that way."

6# troubling training tip- leash skill

Training trouble tip for struggling owners;

Welcome to this edition of Strictly Dogs where you can find some advice on how to correct some common training problems I see everyday of my life.

Being taken for a walk by your dog. This problem I see everyday and I have trained a dog very recently,to stop pulling her owner and I'm 16. To understand her place is next to or just behind, not in front! and still sometimes I have to remind her where she must be in walking but that's what training is about just repetition and not getting annoyed with a dog who might take longer to learn.

This can be fixed in this method which I personally use and it has never failed me,
the rule I follow is exercise then discipline, which means firstly walk your dog on a good walk then after, for me, training commences but that's not a must I feel it just makes it a lot easier when the dog is in a calmer state of mind and at a slower pace.

Firstly, Place the collar high on the dogs neck and begin to walk, each time the dog steps a few steps in front of you pull a sharp tug to the inside near your hip or in an upward direction(the bigger the dog the harder the tug as the dog must feel you mean business as a light one wont work) after the pull the dog should come back a few steps, make the dog sit and when the dog sits, relax your correction arm.

Repeat this as many times as needed and when the dog is doing well stop and reward with a treat. It's all about repetition. If you give up and say "whatever just go ahead and pull" the dog would have won and then it would of all have been for nothing. It took me two walks to train the lab as I didn't let her win at all it didn't take long and I never got annoyed with her when she didn't listen, i did not get annoyed as that creates a bad state in you and your dog.

This is not cruelty {imagine flicking someone, it really hardly hurts that's what a tug feels to a dog} Hard and pure sturdy muscle in their necks can take a tug and sometimes they don't react at all if too light, proving your the leader means having to show the dog you mean what you say and letting them know they are not in charge on the walk.

Always remember reward the dog with a relaxed leash when she/he does what you would like. Hope this helps anyone out their struggling and thank you for reading this edition of Strictly Dogs

#5 Pug

The pug is simply a fun loving, sometimes bouncy breed with plenty of cute wrinkles

Good For Novice Owners.
Affectionate with Family.
High playfulness nature.
Known as a Velcro dog.
Average intelligence.
Low potential to bark or howl.
12-15 lifespan.
Weighing from 14 to 18 pounds.

Pugs are not known as watch or guard dogs and rarely have a yappy nature which  will be thankful for, these little buddies are known for overall friendliness.

Pugs also known for being like little clowns at heart, they also carry themselves with a regal manner. Pugs are playful dogs, ready and able for fun and games but they are also lickers and lovers, and must be close to their humans or pack. Pugs love to be the center of attention, and are heartsick if ignored for too long also meaning they don't love being left alone as they love their people so much but they can be if they have to be left.

Unmistakable wrinkles another favorite of why people love the pug come with their own health and cleaning jobs. Cleaning out the wrinkles daily to stop growth of bacteria as if not they can grown skin fold dermatitis so is another job of a pug owner but if you don't mind the daily small clean and average amount of shedding this little bundle of joy will make an lovely companion to single people or families. A pug loves everyone.

Health is obviously not a strong point of this breed sometimes having elongated palates which cause a pug to "backwards sneeze" when excited. Also those cute wrinkles and flat face bring problems such as breathing difficulties and possibly of heat stroke in hot weather also some pugs with particular small nostrils have a even harder time to breath also to add those big beautiful eyes can be prone to temporarily popping out not completely but just out of the socket, called proptosis, which must be put back strait away  by a veterinary professional and this is caused by harsh tugging possibly on a leash or a play time squeezing hug of love meaning those who dont understand the dangers must be watched whilst playing especially with little children. Overall this brachycepalic breed is far from aggressive but obviously has a small chance to be as if they are trained that way as with any other breed they will obey the owner and be but only if taught or trained to be.

The one thing that you can be a assured is a pug will be a true pal of life and will love you beyond anything else but might love their food a little bit more so be careful how many treats you give this food lover as they can easily become obese or overweight.

4# Rottwheiler

The Rottweiler

The black and tan breed with a bad rap

A tough, strong, beast with a iron jaw power..... yet loving, caring, fiercely loyal and one of the most loyal and owner loving breed out their.

This breed not for the novice owner can be molded into a absolute gem is trained and socialized properly when young and given rules and shown respect. Rottweiler a breed given a very bad name by many is one of the most common dog breeds which is feared but why? because of just a few un- knowledged people who got the breed and didn't put in any effort to care for him or her or train.

As puppies cuteness is a big extra with this breed the loved black and tan coat in my opinion is a gorgeous coat color and emphasizing their little cute faces is one cute factor of this breed however buying this breed for beauty is not the way to go neither buying this breed for bruit strength and menacing looks either. Some buy this breed and they look "tough" and combined with a chain collar and lead people will buy this breed as a tough looking accessory and the breed or dog which wold be sometimes untrained and the breeds reputation will face the consequence if they then do something wrong as young not being shown right from wrong.

Shedding:Heavy black hair
Training: Easy and a must with this breed
Owner: experienced level  or those who are highly knowledgeable and informed.
Exercise: Moderate energy level
Children: if as young socialized around a family and children and rough will grown up tolerate to it

Overall this breed is a breed i love for its pure loyalty ill to take a bullet form any member of their family or their own this breed a rose between many thorns which are the news stories miss understood these big old softies which i hope soon they will be seen for what true gorgeous and insanely loyal and extremely clever breed that they are. Thank you so much for reading this edition of STRICTLY DOGS.....

#3 Labrador

Welcome to another edition of Strictly Dogs, Labrador Edition.

The Labrador

Known for its popularity and worldwide known the Labor is a breed many people know about me is usually seen as an easy choice of dog breed by many novice owners but still not knowing some vital facts first for this gun-dog

Labradors energy level: high
Shedding: constant
Possible destructive behavior: yes possible if bored

These I would say are three main points to consider if you would like a lab but of course this breed isn't know for guide dogs for nothing. Very smart, loyal, friendly and willing to please they make excellent family dogs.

But like all breeds a Labrador still needs to be socialized and trained and as seen by some owners Labradors will make up rules of their own if they are not given any from their owner.

Guide dogs are only "made" by determination and pure training a careful temperament picking from as young as their eyes first open guide dog puppies are introduced to objects and new obstacles to open their brain and get them confident

This beautiful, cute and extremely popular pick for many people and I can see why.

But before going along with the cuteness factor and the crowd or what everyone else is getting this breed is more than just a friendly love bug. It's a sporty gun-dog who loves to run and play.So therefore many miss the sporting part of the breed, the part of the breed that needs stimulation, exercise and training to challenge the brain. If this side of this gorgeous best friend breed type Labrador can be met you will truly, not regret buying a little lab love-bug puppy.

Hope you've enjoyed this edition of Strictly Dogs

#2 Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Simple to say a~Miss Understood Breed the staffie is a true softie at heart once you get the past the seemingly tough exterior you get a true teddy bear loyal and extremely brave companion inside.
The truth about the staffie is right here.

Breed Facts
Dog Breed Group: Terrier Dogs
Height:1 foot, 2 inches to 1 foot, 4 inches tall at the shoulder Weight:24 to 38 pounds

Life Span: 12 to 14 years

  • Thrives with human companionship
  • Shed heavily once a year when they blow their coat but little shedding otherwise
  • Can be known to be dog aggressive but only if not socialized when young
  • Not a breed for meek, timid or knowledgeable owners
  • Energetic dogs who need vigorous walks but can live in an apartment
  • Strong Prey drive so dont do well around other household small pets
  • High pain thresh hold so can hold a considerable amount of pain before whining or letting the owner see any signs
  • Come in many colours
  • Average intelligence
  • Doesn't cope greatest being left alone
  • Must be socialized when a puppy and taken to new places & introduced to all people

The breed when bought by people who dont know anything about them is when it "goes wrong." Staffies are not born aggressive they are born like every other dog, innocent, sweet and loving knowing no enemy. They love everything they can set their eyes on. A dog is a representation of what the OWNER has molded it to be. A puppy is a piece of clay can be molded into something gorgeous and sweet but also can go the opposite and this aggressive or guarding threatening nature is what the owner has taught the dog to do it knows no difference as its been molded that way by the OWNER and this ends up with a innocent dog in a shelter for simply doing what the "master" says. The dog ends up in a cell or a cage. A bit of love and care and training and socialization can create a family dog and amazing companion and a loyal solider or soliderette who would take a bullet for any member of their pack a breed as loyal as any other. A staffie is a softie at heart if given the slightest chance to show their licking loving nature.

#1 Pomeranian

Welcome to Dogs Weekly, written by a dog lover and trainer in the making, Creating an online dog breed encyclopedia with all you need to know about dog breeds big and small allowing people to learn about these true companions to man kind. Also with little training tips here and there to help train any struggling owners.

Background:
  • Also known as a "Large dog personality in a small body".
  • 7-12 inches tall and 3 to 7 pounds.
  • Moderate Shedders
  • Easily injured or hurt if dropped or too rough play.
  • If raised with other animals, they get along fine with any household pets.
  • Risk of small dog syndrome is possible
  • Can be barkers as they are excellent watchdogs
  • Though small have a lot of energy to release
  • Short attention span and therefore can be harder than other breeds to toilet train

This little beauty powder puff is simply a true companion usually attached to one or two people at most but can grow up with a family if raised from a puppy. Can be a bit of a barker and have a lot to say if they feel like it. But oppose to that personality comes in bundles and each as their own unique little characteristics that make a pom a breed apart from the rest brave and fearless thinking and acting like a protector they dont know their size but that doesn't faze them.

Moderate amount of grooming required as with this lush coat when this little pom gets hot, they shed out unfortunately ends up over the owners floor but if you can deal with a little little fur ball like a pom that has a bit of a voice and no afraid to use it, acts like their the size of a great dane and fur that must be knot free you get a little true diva dog that will keep you laughing and entertained no doubt about that fact. Plus the cuteness factor is at the max level

Thank you for reading a don't worry if you loved this blog theirs plenty more dog breeds to come.
